Dear Friend

It’s hard to believe that the summer is almost over. Whether you spent time at home or were able to go away I do hope it was possible to have a good break and enjoy time relaxing with family and friends. Some families joined us on a Take a Break holiday this summer; you can read more about it in our article ‘What a difference a week makes!’
The autumn always seems to bring with it a time of change and adjusting to new seasons in family life can be challenging. The arrival of a new baby is a significant new stage in life, ushering in the different joys and challenges of parenthood, and in ‘Let’s Stick Together’ you can read about how Care for the Family is supporting new parents.

Some parents may be managing the transition of children starting school for the first time or of young people leaving home to begin university or college. You can read about one parent’s experience of this in the article ‘Off to University’.

Finally you can find out more about our new autumn event Getting Your Kids Through Church Without Them Ending Up Hating God, based on Rob Parsons’ recent book.

We hope you have a good autumn, whatever season of family life you may be in!

With best wishes,
Katherine Hill

For lone parents, bearing all the responsibility of parenting can be tough work. Not only is it exhausting, but it can also be a real financial strain too. For many of these families, the suggestion of a week’s holiday together would be a dream come true. And that is exactly what we at Care for the Family are able to offer.

lets stick together

This innovative session for new mums and dads is now ready to roll!
We know that family life in Britain needs all the help it can get. Half of all children born today will not be living with both parents by their 16th birthday. Care for the Family will be encouraging new parents to invest in their couple relationship, in a new initiative called ‘Let’s Stick Together’.

Off to University

As the autumn term draws near many young people are preparing to head off to university for the first time. For parents left waving them goodbye this can be a difficult period. You can read one parent’s story here.
